Why I Built Eh-2-Zed

Hi, I’m Jan.

If you’re here, you probably feel it too—that quiet pride that comes from being Canadian. The kind that’s not loud or showy, but runs deep.

I grew up in a hardworking family where money was often tight, but pride in a job well done was never in short supply. My parents worked long hours, and even when times were tough, they always made things feel magical—especially at Christmas. Some of our gifts were handmade, not because it was trendy, but because it was all they could afford. Those moments shaped me.

As a kid, I remember flipping over my toys, looking to see where they were made. When I realized they didn’t come from the North Pole—or even Canada—it hit me. We were already starting to lose something important: Canadian manufacturing, and the people behind it.

For decades, I’ve been on a quiet mission to find and support Canadian-made products. Every time I discover one, it feels like a small victory—proof that we still make incredible things in this country, and that we haven’t lost who we are.

Eh-2-Zed was born from that feeling.

This isn’t just a store. It’s a tribute—to my parents, to blue-collar Canadians, to the people who get up every day and put pride into what they do. I created this shop so you wouldn't have to wonder if what you’re buying is truly Canadian made—because here, it all is. No shortcuts. No pretending.

Everything at Eh-2-Zed has a story. Every product supports a job, a dream, a maker. And every purchase is a quiet act of patriotism.
