They do not tarnish like silver but will slowly oxidize into a soft patina.
It is recommended to wash these in warm soapy water and not in the dishwasher. You can also use a pewter cleaner once in a while. Do not let pewter come into contact with direct sources of heat, such as a stove or open flame.
